Dr. bruno, CAT

My name is Dr. Bruno (the DR is for disabled and Resilient), the office therapy cat.

My story starts in a gutter. Maybe yours does too. I was injured, scared, and alone when a Good Samaritan rescued me and brought me to a nearby animal clinic. The veterinarian determined that my back leg was crushed beyond repair and decided to amputate it. Sometimes we don’t get to decide whether someone or something is taken away from us. Thankfully, I survived, and as I was recovering, I created some friendships with a baby goat, a pug, vet techs, and other kittens. Then one day, these strange people showed up and noticed me. Their names were Jessie and Ryan. Now I call them mom and dad.

They were not looking for any cats after their beloved gray cat had recently passed away, however, they immediately fell in love with me and adopted me into their family.

_________

Bruno is sweet, calm, neurotic, and anxious, loving, kind, and (accidentally) destructive due to balancing on only three legs. He is sensitive to people’s emotions as he has sustained a lot of trauma. We adopted him when he was 10 weeks old, right after he had his stitches removed. We don’t know how his leg was fractured, but he has adapted well, beyond all measure, despite what happened.

If you would like Bruno to be a part of your therapy session, he will be in our office on Mondays and Thursdays. He is looking forward to meeting you and showing you that there is hope on the other side of suffering!
